Amy M. Weeks is a chemical biologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Her research focuses on the spatial and temporal dynamics of the proteome, particularly post-translational modifications (PTMs), chemoproteomics, and enzymatic tool development.
The Weeks Lab develops molecular tools to map PTMs within cells in a spatially and temporally resolved manner. By repurposing native enzymes for in situ tagging, her group enables high-resolution profiling of key regulatory events like phosphorylation and proteolysis. They also investigate rare, conserved PTMs with unknown biological functions.
She earned her B.S. from MIT, Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, and completed postdoctoral research at UCSF. Her interdisciplinary expertise spans chemical biology, enzymology, and systems-level proteomics.
