I am pleased to inform you about the 24th Tateshina Organic Chemistry Conference to be held in Tateshina, Nagano Prefecture from June 21st (Friday) to June 23rd (Sunday), 2024. This conference was traditionally held in November, but since the 2023 fiscal year, it has been moved to June. This year, we are excited to host the event at the newly renovated Shirakaba Resort Ike no Taira Hotel (in Kitasaku District, Nagano Prefecture). It is our sincere hope that you will enjoy the 48-hour conference by the shores of Lake Shirakaba, amidst the scenery of skies, mountains, and lakes.
This year, we are honored to welcome an impressive line-up of speakers including Professor Paul A. Wender from Stanford University, USA; Professor Tobias Ritter from the Max-Planck Institute, Germany; Dr. Jin Iikura from Chugai Pharmaceutical Co.; Professor Hajime Ito from Hokkaido University; Professor Seung Bum Park from Seoul National University, South Korea; and Professor Sheel C. Dodani from the University of Texas at Dallas, USA. The conference will cover a wide range of topics including organometallic chemistry, catalysis, mechanochemical synthesis, organic synthesis, pharmaceutical chemistry, chemical biology, and bioimaging. We are expecting around 70 researchers, from young scientists to academy members, mainly from Asia including China, Taiwan, South Korea, and Singapore.
The conference was founded in 2000 through the initiative and leadership of Dr. Eiichi Nakamura, and Professor Shu Kobayashi served as the chairman from 2011 to 2023. Starting in 2024, I am scheduled to serve as the chairman of the conference. We are committed to preparing for an event that all participants will thoroughly enjoy. Please note that the conference will commence at 1:00 PM on June 21st (Friday) and will conclude at noon on June 23rd (Sunday).
