Shu-Li You (Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry)

Shu-Li You is a Professor at the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research focuses on asymmetric catalysis, organometallic chemistry, and the development of efficient enantioselective transformations for the synthesis of complex molecules.

The You Group is especially recognized for its contributions to catalytic asymmetric dearomatization, allylic substitution, and transition-metal-catalysed asymmetric reactions. These methods provide powerful strategies for converting simple aromatic compounds into three-dimensional, stereochemically rich molecular scaffolds.

He received his B.Sc. in Chemistry from Nankai University and his Ph.D. from the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry under Professor Li-Xin Dai. He then conducted postdoctoral research with Professor Jeffery W. Kelly at Scripps Research and worked at the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation before returning to SIOC as a professor.

He has received many major awards in organic chemistry and has served the international chemistry community through editorial and advisory roles. His work has had broad influence in asymmetric synthesis and catalytic methodology.
